Meet Our Board Members

David SimpsoN

Chairman of the Board

The mission of empowering our Neighbors in need is what drew David to Cornerstone. He and his wife, Shona, have been active supporters and volunteers from the beginning. In his work as a Principal Consultant for The Table Group he works with leaders to empower them in building healthy organizations through cohesive teams and establishing clarity. David has led the provision of food to Neighbor families at Cornerstone Christmas for 6 years. He is originally from Scotland and currently serves as the Community Coordinator at One Community Church, Prosper.

Chris Kern

Secretary

Chris joined the board in February 2017 after first serving as a volunteer alongside his family at our donation center. He loved the fact that they could serve together and give back to their own community, and he believes God is using Cornerstone NCT to multiply blessings, as the Neighbors who seek our support frequently give back to others. Chris has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and is working to complete his Master of Business Administration. He is a project manager and business analyst whose credentials include Certified Continuous Improvement Manager and Six Sigma Lean Black Belt Professional. He also serves on the boards of the Miracle League of Frisco and Collin County Myers Park.

Kerry Carothers

Treasurer

Kerry watched, first-hand, how the Cornerstone team operated while they officed inside the walls of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship. Their energy, passion, and heart to serve our communities drew him to join the team as a Board member in December 2019. He believes that the acts of service provided by Cornerstone will impact families and the generation that follows. Cornerstone is truly the hands and feet of Jesus.

Kerry is married to Stephanie and combined they have seven children and eleven grandchildren! He graduated from UNT with a BBA degree and Finance major. He has served in leadership roles in both for profit corporations and in the non-profit sector. He transitioned into church administration serving most recently as the Executive Pastor/Administrator for Lighthouse Christian Fellowship. He also formed his own church administrative consulting company.

He currently serves as the Pastor/Director of Operations for Kingdom Business Leaders of Gateway Church. He and his wife attend Gateway Church at the Prosper campus.

Brad Bellard

Board Member

Dr. Brad Bellard is a double-boarded Sports Medicine physician and Regenerative Medicine Specialist at Texas Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Group. He has worked with multiple professional teams including his prior service as an assistant team doctor for the NBA Dallas Mavericks, and is a regular guest on the Dallas-Fort Worth radio show Inside Sports Medicine.

Dr. Brad is also a performance coach for men. He helps high-achieving professional men spiritually grow and develop personally, so they can succeed at work and win at life. Through his coaching program, podcast, and best selling book, he equips high achieving men with strategies to live a life of simultaneous success AND fulfillment.

Jennifer Lutes

Founder / Executive Director / Board Member

Cornerstone NCT has sparked some powerful moments over the years. And each time Jennifer is there to witness a Neighbor’s lightbulb moment, watch a kid smile when they open a new backpack, or celebrate a Neighbor’s new job, she is inspired to work even harder for area families who need assistance. Jennifer holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her professional experience includes counseling, vocational coaching, management, bookkeeping, and starting and running a nonprofit.
